He extended gratitude to the Indian Air Force, Army, paramilitary forces, and locals for their prompt response and significant contributions in relief and rescue operations. The Governor acknowledged the government, administration, and police force for their commendable efforts, alongside central assistance, in restoring normalcy to the affected areas.

In addition to celebrating culture, the Minjar Fair also became a platform to address a grave concern – the rising drug menace. Governor Shukla affirmed the State Government’s commitment to combat this social evil. He emphasized the need for collective awareness and action against drug addiction, as preserving culture and traditions plays a pivotal role in countering anti-social elements that harm society.

Commendation for Government & Administration

The fair’s inauguration saw the Governor hoisting the Minjar flag while melodious Kunjdi Malhar songs filled the air with the spirit of celebration. Governor Shukla visited the ancient Lakshminarayan temple, seeking blessings by presenting a Minjar, symbolizing prosperity and well-being.

Apart from promoting heritage and cultural traditions, the Minjar Fair also offered an arts and crafts fair and an exhibition showcasing the achievements of the present government. The Governor acknowledged and appreciated these efforts to encourage and support local artisans and entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, the Governor officially declared the commencement of the Minjar Mela Sports Competitions, fostering a sense of enthusiasm and unity among participants. The sports competitions aimed to promote sportsmanship and active engagement among the people.

The presence of dignitaries like Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania and MLA Neeraj Nayyar added significance to the event. The fair brought together various communities, celebrating their cultural diversity while fostering unity.

Governor Shukla urged Non-Governmental Organizations to step forward and extend their support during challenging times like the recent floods. This collaborative approach reinforces the sense of community and support within the State.

The Minjar Fair, with its cultural splendor and festive spirit, remains a reflection of Himachal Pradesh’s rich heritage and commitment to preserving its identity. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla’s presence as the Chief Guest highlighted the State’s dedication to upholding its glorious past and working towards a promising future.
