St. Edward’s School celebrated its Founders’ Day with pride and solemnity over two days, 8 and 9 March 2026, honouring the legacy of its founders and reaffirming its longstanding commitment to excellence in education and character formation.

The first day’s celebrations were graced by Chief Guest Justice Deepak Gupta, a distinguished alumnus of the school. The programme began with a reflective address on the vision and ideals of the founders, followed by the hoisting of the School Flag and the singing of the School Anthem.

A major highlight of the event was the Investiture Ceremony, during which the newly elected Student Council for 2026 formally assumed office. The ceremonial sashes were presented by the Chief Guest, while the oath of office was administered by Principal Rev. Fr. Anil Sequeira.

The newly appointed cabinet members are:

  • School Captain: Keshav Vashisht

  • School Vice Captain: Ansh Sharma

  • School Reporter: Atharv Sharma

  • Sports Captain: Ritik Sharma

House Captains and Vice Captains were also sworn in during the ceremony.

The programme featured a Guard of Honour, a spirited march past by alumni and students, and the presentation of academic awards. Addressing the gathering, Justice Gupta shared inspiring reflections from his journey as a student and encouraged students to uphold the school’s values.

Students also showcased their talent through classical and dance performances in the school auditorium. Among the most memorable moments were the release of “The Hundred Years Tapestry – Volume 3,” a publication dedicated to the school’s alumni and legacy, and the sealing of a Time Capsule containing messages, memories and artefacts for future generations. The day concluded with a Service of Light, symbolising the enduring ideals of the institution.

The second day began with a Founders’ Day address and flag hoisting by Principal Rev. Fr. Anil Sequeira, followed by melodious songs by the students.

Students also visited the Memorial Park, watched an audio-visual presentation highlighting the school’s centenary celebrations, and listened to messages from Ex-Edwardians.

Demonstrating the school’s commitment to compassion and community service, members of the Outreach Club and Student Cabinet visited the Abhi Foundation. Students interacted with children, played games and distributed essential items, reflecting the spirit of service nurtured by the institution.

The two-day celebration beautifully combined tradition, leadership, cultural expression and social responsibility, reinforcing the enduring values that have guided St. Edward’s School for over a century.
