Thrilling Finish to St. Edward’s Inter-School Games

A vibrant celebration of youth, talent, and team spirit concluded today at St. Edward’s School, Shimla, as the 12th Inter-School Bishop Gilbert Rego Football, Brother Steinmeyer Basketball, and the newly introduced Brother Walsh Table Tennis Tournaments wrapped up after four days of spirited competition from October 14 to 17.

The multi-sport event brought together six prominent schools, showcasing impressive displays of discipline, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. The tournaments were inaugurated by the School Principal, Rev. Fr. Anil Sequeira, setting the tone for a high-energy sporting showcase.

In a nail-biting football final, hosts St. Edward’s School clinched the title, while Roots Country School, Baghi triumphed in basketball. The Brother Walsh Table Tennis Tournament, a new and exciting addition this year, saw intense participation, marking a successful debut.

Distinguished guests graced the closing ceremony: Gaurav Gupta awarded the football champions, Umesh Akre felicitated the basketball winners, and Fr. Robert honored the table tennis victors.

Beyond the medals and trophies, the event underscored the true spirit of inter-school sports—discipline, dedication, and friendship—leaving lasting memories for all who participated.
