An ideal model of world class purchases will be set by the Himachal Pradesh Medical Services Corporation Limited, Shimla (HPMSCL), stated Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil here today while chairing a 2nd Board meeting of the HPMSCL. The Health Minister-cum-Chairman of the Corporation said that the procurement process under the HPMSCL will be thoroughly transparent, clean and competitive.
He said that he will visit the selling facility and personally inspect the quality of the drugs and equipments that are to be purchased in order to ensure that high quality standard procurements are being finalised. Dr. Shandil further stated that separate procurement, financial clearance and inspection units would be set up under HPMSCL and they will follow best practices under international standards to grant go through to the purchases.
The Minister added that the board meeting also gave clearance to the appointment of the Managing Director and other Directors, opening of bank account and delegation of financial powers to the Managing Director and other officers of the Corporation. HPMSCL was recently incorporated to deal with all the procurements related to the Health Department.
