HPPCL Celebrated its Fifteenth Raising Day in Gaiety Theatre

Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. celebrated its Fifteenth Raising Day with full gaiety. On the 15th Raising Day Celebration a cultural programme was organized at CPRI auditorium which was presided over by Manmohan Sharma, Managing Director, HPPCL. The Flag of HPPCL was unfurled at its Corporate office by Manmohan Sharma, Managing Director, HPPCL. Manmohan Sharma said that HPPCL has made another significant contribution to the State by commissioning of 111 MW Sawra Kuddy Hydro electric Project this year and increasing the generation capacity of HPPCL to 281 MW. He said that the construction of AFD funded projects to be constructed in Chamba District; Chanju-III Hydro Electric Project (48 MW) and Deothal Chanju Hydro Electric Project (30 MW) will also begin in next financial year. The civil and electromechanical tenders for the construction of 48 MW Chanju Hydro Electric Project has already been invited.

He said that Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs of Government of India has cleared the funding of Rs. 6947 Crores for the Renukaji Dam Project in a meeting held on 15th December, 2021 which will pave the way for starting the construction of this project. This project has already been approved by the Technical Advisory Committee of Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India. He elaborated that HPPCL commissioned projects are running smoothly and earning good revenue for the State. He elaborated that two project of 580 MW capacity namely 450 MW Shongtong Karcham Hydro Electric Project  and 130 MW Kashang Stage-II  and III are in construction stage. Congratulating HPPCL employees on its 15th Raising Day, he appealed to work with dedication and utmost sincerity to complete the allotted projects within time frame. The cultural function for the employees and their families was organized at CPRI auditorium where the cultural presentation by HPPCL employees and their children enthralled the audience with Himachali folk songs and other melodies. The winners of the fifteenth HPPCL Sports event were also felicitated on the occasion.
