A two-day national seminar on “Viksit Bharat 2047: Challenges and Opportunities” concluded successfully at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Rashtrapati Nivas, Shimla. The event was held on April 27–28, 2026, bringing together academicians, policy experts, and researchers from across the country at Siddharth Vihar.
The seminar focused on key aspects of inclusive, sustainable, and multidisciplinary development in line with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. In the inaugural session, Convener and Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, Prof. Manoj Dixit, presented the conceptual framework, while Prof. R.K. Mishra of the University of Lucknow delivered the keynote address. The session was chaired by IIAS Director Prof. Himanshu Kumar Chaturvedi, who described Viksit Bharat 2047 as a national mission.
Over two days, multiple technical sessions explored themes such as the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat, India’s economic future, policy and administration, traditional development perspectives, and the broader national roadmap. Experts including Prof. Neerja Gupta (Gujarat University), Prof. Manoj Borkar (Goa), Prof. Pankaj Gupta (OP Jindal Global University), and Prof. P.S. Manhas (CEC Delhi) shared their views during the discussions.
On the second day, deliberations continued with participation from academics and officials from institutions such as Himachal Pradesh University, University of Delhi, Ministry of Commerce, and others. Key focus areas included governance, policy frameworks, and India’s developmental trajectory.
In the valedictory session, Prof. Manoj Dixit presented a summary of the key discussions and recommendations. The valedictory address was delivered by Prof. Sushma Yadav, former Vice Chancellor of BPS Women University, who emphasized that achieving Viksit Bharat 2047 will require education, innovation, and strong institutional support. The session was moderated by PRO Dr. Akhilesh Pathak.
The seminar concluded with a consensus that achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 requires coordinated policymaking, multidisciplinary collaboration, and active participation from all sections of society, making it a collective national effort.
