The voice of 73rd Independence Day echoed aloud in North Oak Public School, Sanjauli, as the students and staff celebrated with a variety of cultural items paying homage to the martyrs of our country. There were patriotic songs by Nursery & KG students followed by a semi-classical dance on Vande Mataram, saluting our Motherland. The main attraction of the function was a mime depicting the plight of soldiers and their families who died in the Pulwama attack on 14th February, 2019, an attack on India’s soul, which was a heart touching moment bringing tears to the eyes of audience.

The closing speech of Director-Principal Namita Lal was full of emotions as it highlighted the status of Indian soldiers and the inevitable sacrifices they make for our country. With a deep sense of gratitude, she asked the teachers and parents to make children aware about the sacrifices of the martyrs who gave us this freedom. She told them to acquaint the children with the real meaning of freedom and the price at which it come at.

She lauded the efforts of the staff and students, especially Suman for her creative ideas who trained all the children so well. She also appreciated the efforts of Ravinder and Geeta for conducting the show so well.
