Swarn Public School, Tooti Kandi, reverberated with patriotism and vibrant celebrations as students, faculty, and special guests came together to commemorate India’s Independence Day with great zeal.

The event began with the ceremonial flag hoisting, jointly conducted by soldiers from the Border Security Force (BSF) — Bhaskarnand Rajendra Kumar, Rohit Kangotra, Rajesh Sharma, Neelom, Stanzin, and Ekta Sharma — along with members of Rotary Club Shimla “Hill Queens” — Pooja Goyal, Harpreet, and Vipin Gupta. Their presence added honor and inspiration to the occasion.

Sarika, a Class 10 student, delivered a rousing speech that stirred patriotic emotions across the audience. This was followed by a high-energy Bhangra performance by Sameer and Muskan, which set a celebratory tone for the event.

A series of cultural performances showcased the students’ talent and love for the nation. Shivani, Tamanna, Niharika, Riddhima, and Vanshika performed a graceful dance to “Chak De India,” while Aastha and Harsh Thakur moved the audience with their heartfelt poetry. The spirit of Indian freedom fighters was brought alive through dramatic portrayals — Vanya as Rani Lakshmibai, Aarav as Bhagat Singh, Bhavishya as Bharat Mata, and Parth Kumar as Chacha Nehru.

Jivika from UKG recited a patriotic poem, and Ojasvi expressed her thoughts on the significance of Independence Day. Class 3 students — Sanvi, Parinjal, Jasmin, Jishita, Erika Sharma, and Atiya — performed an emotional dance to “Sandesh Aate Hain.” Class 4 and 5 students presented energetic group dances and songs, including a touching rendition of “Meri Zameen.”

The celebration concluded with a motivational address by BSF soldier Bhaskarnand, who encouraged the young minds to contribute to the nation. A representative from Rotary Club “Hill Queens” also inspired students with words of patriotic wisdom.

Principal Seema Mehta extended her warm Independence Day greetings to students, parents, and staff. She thanked all participants and organizers for making the celebration a memorable success, reinforcing the message of unity, pride, and dedication towards the nation.
