The first onstage performance is always a cherished memory for parents, to see their little ones perform so cutely amidst colourful lights and dressed in adorable costumes. Rhythm, music, steps or the final performance was not judged, but what was captured was the innocence of the children. Parents and many a grandparents witnessed their tiny tots showcase an amazing display of dance and drama act during the Junior Section Speech Day of Auckland House School. The chief guest for the event was Dr. Brijesh Chauhan, Principal P.G. College Seema, Rohru district Shimla, who was warmly greeted by the Director Principal Sunita John and Principal Boys School Micheal A John, Rev Sohan Lal and the teachers.
The morning began with a Hindi play titled “Lakh ki Naak” through which the kids shared an important message of growing corruption and bribery. Honesty is the best way to live and we should imbibe our children with moral values to make them model citizens. Next was a Kangri song by the tiny tots of Nursery Class followed by a trip to the Jungle. Dressed in animal costumes the kids put up a sweet performance. What followed next were a variety of dances and action songs, each enjoyed thoroughly by one and all. The musical “Cinderella” by the girls of Form Two and U.K.G. enthralled the audience. He also said that the emphasis should be on the overall development of the kids and that right to education is not just enough, but right to learning outcome should be the focus.
