Auckland House School for Boys (AHSB), Shimla, hosted Speech Day 2026 for its Lower Primary Department (LPD) on Friday, filling the day with vibrant music, dance, theatrical acts, and cultural performances.
Maheshwar Singh Chauhan, Chairman of HIMFED, Himachal Pradesh, attended as the Chief Guest to encourage the students and present the awards. Praising the young talent, he remarked, “Seeing the confidence, imagination, and energy in these young boys was truly wonderful. Their performances reflect not only their skill, but also the hard work of their teachers and the steadfast support of their parents. My heartiest congratulations to the school and students for creating such a joyful event.”
The festivities commenced with a Welcome Address, the traditional Lighting of the Lamp, and a prayer song, “You Are with Me, O Lord!”, presented by the Class II Choir. The young boys then took the stage with a series of lively dance routines including Hula Hula, Japanese Bum Bum, Rasputin, Howdy! Let’s Get Hoppin, and Dreamers. Class II brought storybook charm to life through a dramatic staging of “The Selfish Giant”, accompanied by musical renditions of “It’s a Small World” and “You Are My Sunshine”. The audience was further treated to a rich finale of traditional folk dances including Bihu, Ghoomar, Garba, and Bhangra.
Presenting the Annual Report, Principal Reuben John commended the children’s courage and spirit. He shared, “Watching our youngest students take to the stage with zero hesitation, pure happiness, and genuine smiles is the most fulfilling part of our work. Today was more than a performance—it was a celebration of childhood, courage, and togetherness. Every single dance step and note captured the pure spirit of our boys, and we are immensely proud of them.”
The event concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, a Token of Gratitude, and the Vote of Thanks, wrapping up a memorable celebration of young talent and spirit.
