Additional Director General (Ministry of Home Affairs) Raj Kumar and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Regional Director Amanjeet Singh called on Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap today to discuss key initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and strengthen anti-drug measures across Shimla district. During the high-level meeting, the delegation formally requested the early allotment of suitable land to establish a dedicated NCB Zonal Office in Shimla. Deputy Commissioner Kashyap assured the visiting officials of swift, positive action from the district administration to facilitate the land identification process at the earliest.
Highlighting ongoing local outreach, the Deputy Commissioner detailed the administration’s proactive measures, including an innovative school adoption program where district officers regularly visit assigned institutions to directly educate students on the dangers of substance abuse. He emphasized that the district is combining strict enforcement with broader public participation, actively involving youth and local communities to build a drug-free Himachal Pradesh. Reaffirming full administrative support to both the MHA and NCB, DC Kashyap assured seamless cooperation for all future anti-drug campaigns. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Director (PIB Shimla) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and Media & Communication Officer (PIB Chandigarh) Ahmad Khan.
