Meenakshi Chaudhary Meets Visitors on the Fourth Day of Shimla Book Fair

Apart from the wide collection of books, the fourth day of Shimla Book Fair 2022 also saw children and adults actively participating in the programmes being organised. National Book Trust, India in collaboration with Department of Language, Art and Culture, Government of Himachal Pradesh is organizing Shimla Book Fair at Gaiety Theater and Padam Dev Complex, Shimla. Books in Hindi, English, Himachali, Punjabi and Urdu along with all other Indian languages are available at the fair. The fair will continue till July 3. Various activities and programs have been organised to encourage more and more children to visit the fair. A painting competition was organized for the children today.

In this competition, children made pictures of their favorite historical monument of India. Students from many prominent schools of Shimla participated in the competition. All participating students were presented with NBT books. A ‘Meet the Writer’ session was organized for the audience interested in literature. In this program eminent writer Ms. Meenakshi Choudhary talked about her books and her writing journey. She also answered questions from the audience at the end of the session. The fair also saw several cultural performances  showcasing the rich folk and traditional music and dances of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla Book Fair timings are from 11 am to 8 pm daily and entry is free for visitors. Special discount for school students is also being provided on the purchase of books.
