The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has announced free travel facility for candidates appearing in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-2026, scheduled for June 21, 2026. The initiative aims to ensure smooth and hassle-free movement of students to and from their परीक्षा centres.
According to an HRTC spokesperson, the decision has been taken in the larger interest of students appearing in the national-level examination. The facility will allow candidates to travel free of cost in ordinary HRTC buses for one onward and one return journey between their place of residence and examination centre.
The spokesperson said that candidates must produce their NEET-2026 admit card to avail the benefit. The admit card will serve as valid proof of identity, residence, and examination centre. The concession will remain valid from June 20 to 22, 2026 (inclusive of both days).
He further clarified that the free travel facility will be applicable only in ordinary HRTC buses. Conductors have been instructed to make proper entries on the admit cards for journeys undertaken under this concession to prevent misuse.
All HRTC unit officers have also been directed to ensure strict compliance and maintain proper records of beneficiaries. The initiative is intended to provide relief to NEET aspirants and facilitate their convenient travel for the examination.
