Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu chaired a high-level review meeting with officials of the Social Justice & Empowerment Department and related agencies regarding the establishment of a modern de-addiction and rehabilitation centre at Kotla-Barog in Sirmaur district.
The Chief Minister announced that the state-of-the-art facility will have a 100-bed capacity and will include amenities such as a library, gym, sports infrastructure, and provisions for skill development and vocational training. Dedicated medical staff, including doctors and nurses, will also be appointed to ensure proper care and support for patients.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to tackling substance abuse, CM Sukhu said that ₹534.36 lakh has been sanctioned for the project, with provision for additional funds if necessary.
The Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioners of Solan and Sirmaur—who attended the meeting virtually—to initiate the transfer of land from the Animal Husbandry Department to the Social Justice & Empowerment Department for the timely establishment of the centre.
