The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has directed its field offices to prominently display information about ‘Local Monthly Pass’ and ‘Annual Pass’ facilities at all toll plazas under its jurisdiction. This move aims to improve transparency and help highway users easily access details about availability, rates, and procedures for these passes.
Signage boards will be placed at toll plaza approaches, customer service areas, and entry/exit points, and will be displayed in English, Hindi, and local regional languages. These boards are to be installed within 30 days and will remain clearly visible both day and night. Additionally, the information will be made available on the ‘Rajmargyatra’ mobile app and NHAI project websites.
The Local Monthly Pass is designed for private vehicle commuters residing within a 20 km radius of a toll plaza. Users need to provide documents such as Aadhar card, Vehicle Registration Certificate, and proof of residence. The pass is issued at the toll plaza helpdesk after verification.
The Annual Pass, valid for one year or 200 toll plaza crossings, is available for private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans. It can be purchased via the Rajmargyatra App and is digitally activated on the vehicle’s FASTag upon paying a one-time fee of Rs. 3,000. This pass can be used at approximately 1,150 toll plazas nationwide.
This initiative reflects NHAI’s commitment to enhancing user experience, making commuting more cost-effective, and promoting transparency in toll operations across India.
