Yet another day filled with fun and never say die spirit was witnessed as the students of Auckland House Girls School celebrated their Senior Section Sports Day here today. The day started by welcoming of the Chief Guest Satyapriya Singh, IPS Deputy Director, Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau, Shimla by the School Principal and sports staff along with children who were filled with enthusiasm and vigor.
The event started with an impressive March Past wherein the four houses marched in order of their last year’s position to the tune of the Bagpipe Band. The March Past was led by the School Captain, Sherlin Singh followed by the School Games Captain, Achal.
It is said that exercises are like prose, whereas Yoga is the poetry of movements. Once you understand the grammar of Yoga; you can write your poetry of movements and hence the students presented a beautiful presentation while performing Yoga asanas that not only entertained but even inspired the spectators.
Students did not stop here only from inspiring parents as they continued to perform various other physical fitness exercises such as Gymnastics, Aerobics and Karate. This was followed by the most eagerly awaited event, the races, comprising of various relays and obstacle races.
During the event students from form VII to XII took part in various physical activities and exhibited their physical strength. As Auckland House aims at the all round development of children and make them excel in all spheres of life, therefore all students were given an opportunity to shine in sports as per their interest and capabilities.
The chief guest was unequivocal in her praise for the high standard of sportsmanship exhibited by the girls. Director-Principal Sunita John appreciated the effort put in by the students and Staff to make the Senior Section Sports a great success. (See All Videos)
