The season of summer brings plenty of happiness and sunshine with it and spotting a rainbow in that weather might be a surprisingly unique sight, but Shimla is one of the lucky places to witness this occurrence, the celebration of Pride Month began with the arrival of the beautiful and unique market, Maya Bazaar. It is an impactful innovative initiative by the organization, Road to Utopia, they aim to bring equity in professional spaces through creative and impactful ideas.
Maya Bazaar, as the name suggests, is a Bazaar or market which brings together professionals from all over the country and makes their services more accessible. It provides individuals and organizations from all walks of life a safe and encouraging space to portray their art, which also creates awareness. This practice was evident in the Maya Bazaar 2.0- Pride edition on 4th and 5th June at Hotel Peterhoff, Shimla.
The Bazaar has numerous shops prepared for the visitors, pop up stalls, ppen mic, busking, artworks – digital and hand painted, music, which is a must, and performances such as gidda, drag and natti, to name a few, all of this makes the celebration of Pride even more enjoyable and to add a cherry to the cake, we had wonderful people who participated and made this extremely delightful.
The artists who have participated in the stall were Poulami in Touch, Poulami; Quirky Accent, Naina; Yushi Chau by Yushi Chau; Transmutation Soap Studio, Sneha; The Colourmaniac, Anjali Raj; Dream World Arts, Nikita Porwal; Rangili, Reshmi Sen & Madhurima Ghosh; Nihal ArtAsylum; Queer Gadh, LGBTQ Chattisgarh, Mist LGBT Foundation; Creative Chaos by Shagun & Apurva, Satrangi, QAbad, Queerabad; Sunali & Deepti from AsYouAre among many other.
The delight isn’t over yet, you can still enjoy the wholesome creatives elements tomorrow. It is open for all. (CLICK TO SEE ALL VIDEOS)
