A Spokesperson of State Government informed here today that a public holiday has been declared on 12th November, 2022 in State on account of General Election to 68 Constituencies of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. This holiday will be applicable to the employees working in all Government Offices/Boards/Corporations/Educational Institutions and Industrial Establishments within the state to enable them to exercise their right to franchise. He said that this will also be a paid holiday to the daily waged employees and also within the meaning of section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. He further said that special casual leave may be given to those employees who are working in different places in the State but have right to vote in other Constituencies/Places however they will have to produce a certificate from the concerned Presiding Officer that the employee has actually cast his/her vote.
