An art exhibition by Om Parkash Sharma, a retired art teacher, was organized to educate and entice the local City Population towards constructive use waste material. Sharma had used waste material, which we usually dump in trash, to make impressive artifacts. People of the City got a new experience as once again they got an opportunity to see creative use of waste material that most of us have in front our eyes but hardly pay attention to. This is second exhibition by Sharma as the previous one was held two years ago.

The artist has made use of waste material such as paper mash, plastic, cold drinks bottles, bottle caps, empty refills, broken bangles, pine cones and other such stuff that is found in abundance all around us.

While informing about his work he said it was his passion to make different creatures out of waste material. This is his way to serve the society by reducing the waste material and converting it into something aesthetically more beautiful as well as useful.

In the exhibition more than 100 different animals and birds had been showcased. He also managed to make a tree of the State flower, which was quite captivating. This time he experimented with paintings by using acrylic colours and made different colourful birds with the help of crystals that are easily available in market.

People were really amazed and astonished after seeing his work as Anil Kumar, a local resident said, “It is great work and the best part is that waste material is used for making all the models. I never imagined that such productive creations could emerge out of waste and we throw away all this without a second thought. Seeing this work I feel that next time even I will try to use my home waste material to create something useful for my children.”
