As the celebration continues in Auckland House Girls School, the Inter School Hindi Declamation Competition was organized covering topics such as women empowerment and safety; moral values in current time; and man – an architect of his own fate for Group A contestants and in Group B – (Senior Category) higher education; violence in neighbouring states – a question on Indian security; balance of technology and knowledge in current times; were some interesting topics on which students expressed their views.
Students from various schools including St. Edward, St. Thomas’, St. Mary, Loreto Convent Tara Hall, Convent of Jesus & Mary, Chapslee, DAV New Shimla, BCS, Monal Public School, DAV Lakkar Bazaar, AHS for Boys and the hosts exhibited their oratory skills as they confidently pressed their views on various topics.
Dr. Sangeeta Saraswrat, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, St Bede’s College and Sanjay Sood, a well known theater artist graced the occasion as Judges.
Apart from this a collage making, recycle art and pencil sketching competitions were also held based on themes such as celebration and woman empowerment. Students showcased their creativity in various forms by making baskets, wall hangings and show pieces.
In the sketch making competition the theme was celebration and in collage making it was healthy living that was judged by Dr. Anjana Bhardwaj, Lecturer from Visual Arts Department, Government College, Chaura Maidan and Captain Sunil Gautam, a well known sculpture artist.
Students gave exceptional performances throughout all the competitions. However, since all cannot be winners hence some were few who performed better than the best.
Hindi Declamation Category A — Convent of Jesus & Mary first, Auckland House Girls second, Loreto Convent Tara Hall third and consolation to Auckland House for Boys.
Hindi Declamation Category B — Auckland House for Girls first, DAV New Shimla second and Convent of Jesus & Mary third and consolation Loreto Convent Tara Hall.
Recycle Art — DAV Lakkar Bazaar first, Loreto Convent Tara Hall second, Auckland House Girls third and consolation Convent of Jesus & Mary.
Sketching — Auckland House for Girls first, Monal Public School second, DAV Lakkar Bazaar third and consolation to Convent of Jesus & Mary.
Collage Making — Convent of Jesus & Mary stood first, Auckland House Girls School second and Loreto Convent Tara Hall third and the consolation prize was won by St. Edward.
