A mere thought of the agony of a helpless person lying on the bed since childhood due to the incurable disease like Muscular Dystrophy and a young man who lost his eyesight due to a serious disease, can stir everyone’s mind.  37-year-old Sunny and 31-year-old Ankur Soni of Majhot village of Hamirpur have been suffering from such pain and agony for years and both of them are completely dependent on their families. In spite of spending lakhs of rupees on treatment, their conditions could not improve and this has completely broken their families both emotionally and financially as well. Realizing the pain and sufferings of such helpless people and their family members, the Himachal Pradesh government has started Sahara Yojna in the year 2019 and this scheme is turning out to be a big relief for thousands of people who are bed ridden for years due to incurable diseases or the serious accidents. The State government has made a provision of Rs. 3000 for such persons every month under Sahara Yojna.

This scheme is proving to be a big help for the families of Sunny and Ankur. Both of them are now getting an amount of Rs. 3000 per month under Sahara Yojna. Actually, 37 years old Sunny had been bed-ridden since his childhood due a serious disease muscular dystrophy. According to Sunny’s mother Raj Kumari, they have spent lakhs of rupees on treatment but his condition did not improve. The financial condition of the family also kept deteriorating. Their condition worsened further after the untimely death of Sunny’s father due to Corona last year. There was not any hope for the family. Then one day came a glimmer of hope from the State government in the form of Sahara Yojna. Now, bed ridden Sunny is getting Rs. 3000 every month under this scheme and his family is able to take better care of him. Expressing gratitude to the state government and especially to the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Raj Kumari says that an amount of Rs. 3000 received under Sahara Yojna, is proving to be a great help for them. Similarly, 31 year old Ankur Soni of the same village Majhot, is also getting Rs 3000 per month under Sahara Yojana. Actually, Ankur had been suffering from a serious disease since childhood.

He has gradually lost his eye sight and now he is completely blind. Parents have spent lakhs of rupees for the treatment of Ankur but everything went in vain. After the complete loss of eyesight, Ankur and his family members were completely broken. In such circumstances, the Sahara Yojna of the State government came as a big relief to Ankur. Thanking the State government, Ankur says that the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has taken a great step by starting schemes like Sahara Yojna for the people who are totally helpless and bed ridden for years due to serious ailment or any serious accident etc. Like Ankur and Sunny, more than twenty thousand helpless and bed ridden people in the state are getting the benefit of Sahara Yojana.
