In line with the directions of the Chief Minister, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap has directed that all pending revenue-related cases, particularly partition (takseem) cases, be resolved by March 31, 2026. He issued these instructions while chairing a video conference meeting with Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars to ensure the time-bound disposal of long-pending matters in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner said that all Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars will conduct hearings of partition cases three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday—to accelerate their disposal. This will ensure hearings on at least 12 days every month. He added that every Saturday, a review of progress in partition cases will be undertaken at the district level, and a consolidated progress report will be sent to the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) on the same day.

Anupam Kashyap also directed the Revenue Department to present a comprehensive record of private land, forest land and government land in the district. He instructed officials to submit detailed information on cases pending in revenue courts, including the nature of cases and the duration for which they have remained unresolved.

Providing details, the Deputy Commissioner said that there were 1,355 partition cases pending in the district, of which only 12 were resolved through Lok Adalats held on January 6, 2026. He emphasized that all field staff and revenue officers have been instructed to clear pending cases well before the stipulated deadline.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the district administration is committed to ensuring speedy and time-bound resolution of revenue matters. He specifically directed that all pending cases related to corrections and other revenue disputes must be disposed of by March 31, 2026, making it clear that delays will not be tolerated.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Divyanshu Singhal, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Pankaj Sharma, AC to DC Devi Chand Thakur and other officers were present during the meeting.
