The literary spirit is set to return to the hills as the Shimla Book Fair 2026 will be held at the iconic Gaiety Theatre on Mall Road from June 13 to 19. The event is being organised by Forceone Books in collaboration with the Language & Culture Department and The Gaiety Dramatic Society, Shimla.

The seven-day book fair promises a vibrant celebration of literature, bringing together readers, students, and families under one roof. Visitors will have access to a wide range of books, from contemporary bestsellers to timeless classics, making it a major cultural attraction in the heart of the capital.

With a legacy spanning over two decades, Forceone Books has played a significant role in promoting reading culture across India. The organisation has successfully conducted more than 50 book fairs nationwide, attracting over 3 million visitors, facilitating business worth over ₹30 crore, and launching more than 1,000 books. Its literary footprint spans cities such as Lucknow, Agra, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Aligarh, Greater Noida, and Delhi.

Now, the organisation brings its flagship literary event to Shimla, showcasing thousands of Hindi and English titles from leading publishers and distributors across Delhi, Kolkata, Agra, Lucknow, Panchkula, Solan, and Shimla.

Prominent participants include the National Book Trust, Publication Division (Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India), Rajpal & Sons, Sasta Sahitya Mandal, Upkar Prakashan, Aadhar Prakashan, Nikhil Publishers & Distributors, Ramakrishna Math (Baghbazar), Bharatiya Kala Prakashan, Aghors Adda, Bodh Varsha, along with several local authors and publishers.

“We are excited to bring this celebration of books to the hills,” said Manoj S. Chandel, Convener of Shimla Book Fair 2026. “Our aim is to connect readers with publishers and make literature more accessible. The Gaiety Theatre offers the perfect cultural setting for this literary gathering.”

The organisers have invited students, readers, and the general public to attend and explore the diverse world of books during the week-long event.
