The state-level function to observe the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking will be held on 26 June 2025 in Shimla. The event will focus on raising awareness and encouraging collective action against drug abuse.
CM Sukhu will attend as the chief guest, while Health, Social Justice, and Empowerment Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil will preside over the program.
According to a spokesperson from the Directorate for the Empowerment of Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities and the Specially Abled (ESOMSA), Himachal Pradesh, the event will witness participation from Panchayati Raj institutions, NGOs, and students from across the state. It aims to bolster public awareness and community engagement in the fight against substance abuse.
As part of the program, the Chief Minister will felicitate departments, districts, NGOs, and individuals who have made notable contributions under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, and those supporting the state’s “Nasha Mukt Himachal, Swasth Himachal” campaign.
