The selection trials for the first Anti-Chitta Under-21 District-Level Volleyball Championship (Boys), to be held as part of the International Shimla Summer Festival 2026, will take place on June 5, 2026 at MC Ground, Sanjauli from 10 am onwards.

Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Pankaj Sharma said that players must bring original date of birth certificate and Aadhaar card for participation. He clarified that no travel allowance will be provided, and only residents of District Shimla born on or after 1 January 2005 will be eligible for the trials.

The trials are being conducted to ensure maximum participation and selection of the best talent, enabling formation of three district volleyball teams that will represent Shimla in the tournament.

Sharma said the competition is part of the Anti-Chitta campaign aimed at steering youth away from drug abuse and raising awareness about the harmful effects of substances like chitta.

He further informed that the winning team will receive ₹1 lakh, the runner-up ₹50,000, and the third-place team ₹25,000 along with trophies and medals. Quarterfinalist teams will receive ₹20,000 each. Special awards of ₹5,000 each will be given for best attacker, blocker, setter, and libero, along with mementos.
