Though winter is a time when everything holds still and life puts everyone to a halt. Members of Simla Ice Skating Club have been blessed with a completely new life as the ice skating sessions are at being held in full swing.

Initially, though the weather played a spoiled sport yet each skater is filled with new energy to make the best of the available chance. “Yes, won’t say that I was not disappointed when it snowed early this year as we all wait for the entire year for ice skating sessions, but I feel that now I don’t have any regrets as now we are having best of our time”, says one of the members.

“Every year I come for a week to enjoy ice skating in a natural ambiance and no matter where I go, the charm of this place remains always unmatched. Over the years there has been a change in temperature due to global warming and even Shimla has not remained untouched from it but still, it is great that the efforts are still made to keep the natural charm and charisma alive of this place,” says Ranjana.

This year the Club is going to celebrate its century and if the weather remains supportive a grand celebration in the first week of January 2020 can be expected. Over the years, there have been discussions of setting up an indoor Ice Skating Rink, but whether those plans be put in action or not will be a question that only time can answer; however, so far skaters and tourists are having a gala time gliding under the natural cover and busy making memories for their lives to cherish.
