St. Thomas’ School, Shimla, recently organized two vibrant inter-house competitions — an English Debate on July 24 and a Group Singing event on July 26 — showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of students from Classes 9 to 12. The events were presided over by Principal Vidhupriya Charkavarty, with Vice-Principal Sharon Nanda extending a warm welcome to the judges and participants during the lamp-lighting ceremony that marked the opening.
In the debate competition, students from the school’s four houses — Kasturi, Toshqui, Chinar, and Shipkila — displayed strong oratory skills and intellectual depth. Chinar House emerged victorious overall, with Aastha and Diya from Chinar House, Isha from Shipkila, Disha from Kasturi, and Ridhi from Toshqui recognized as the best speakers.
The inter-house English group singing competition held on July 26 saw melodious performances by all houses. Shipkila House secured the top spot, followed by Toshqui in second place, Chinar in third, and Kasturi in fourth.
Commending the participants, Principal Vidhupriya Charkavarty lauded the students’ dedication and encouraged them to continue participating in such co-curricular activities. She emphasized that events like these not only enhance confidence but also prepare students to face diverse platforms in the future with greater assurance.
