State Government will Sumpathetically Consider the Demands of Nurses : Dr. Rajiv Saizal

Health, Family Welfare and Ayurveda Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal said that the State Government had always been sensitive to the demands of the nurses category and many important decisions had been taken during last four and half years, to provide them various benefits and facilities.

 Presiding over a meeting with the Trained Nurses Association, Himachal Pradesh and Sister Nivedita Government Nursing College Teaching Association here today, the Health Minister said that the nurses category plays an important role in providing better treatment to the patients and a record recruitment of nurses had been done by the State Government, to provide better services in health institutions. The nurses have done an excellent job especially during the corona pandemic, said Dr. Rajeev Saizal. He directed the officials to expedite the balance payment of incentive amount to the nurses, which was announced by the government, for their exemplary services during the corona pandemic.

  The office bearers of the Association raised the various demands like the payment of 13th month salary payable to the nurses category, on the basis of the present basic pay, to provide accommodation for the nurses in the periphery of the hospital, to grant of stipend on economic and merit basis, designation of Staff Nurse as Nursing Officer on the lines of the Centre and Punjab and demands pertaining to Nursing College etc, during the meeting. Dr. Rajeev Saizal assured the office bearers of the union that their genuine demands would be considered sympathetically and appropriate decision would be taken in a time bound manner.

 Principal Secretary, Health Subhasish Panda also gave his valuable suggestions on the occasion.  The meeting was attended by Jyoti Walia, President of Trained Nurses Association Himachal Pradesh, Interim Secretary Manorama Sharma, Haripriya, Neelam Gupta, Anu Saini and Sister Nivedita Government Nursing College Teaching Association President Sunita Verma, Chief Advisor Santosh Manta, Additional Chief Advisor Kiran Dharma and Director Health and Family Welfare Dr. Anita Mahajan & Director Health Education Dr. Rajneesh Pathania were also present.
