Director of Industries, Dr. Yunus, has stated that the government is taking a zero-tolerance approach towards illegal mining activities in the state. He informed that regular inspections are being carried out in areas suspected of unauthorized mining, and special drives have been launched to crack down on violators.

Dr. Yunus emphasized that the impact of these strategic enforcement campaigns is already visible at the ground level, with several illegal mining operations being detected and acted upon swiftly.

He further revealed that heavy penalties have been imposed on offenders, and multiple cases have been filed in local courts to ensure legal action against violators. “Illegal mining will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” he asserted, adding that strict punitive measures are being taken as a deterrent.

The department has so far received over 350 complaints from the public through the dedicated helpline and email channels. Based on these inputs, affected and vulnerable areas have been identified, and immediate action has been initiated.

The Industries Department reiterated its commitment to safeguarding natural resources, urging the public to continue reporting suspicious activities through official communication channels.
