Sukhu Launches New Disaster Response Resources

The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, launched the new Flag, Logo, Uniform, and Vehicles of the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Response Force (HP SDRF) on May 4, 2023. The launch ceremony was held in the presence of various government officials and ministers.

Significance of the Launch

As a hilly state, Himachal Pradesh is prone to natural disasters such as landslides, floods, and earthquakes. The launch of HP SDRF’s new resources represents a significant step forward in the state’s disaster management capabilities. The Chief Minister praised the efforts of the SDRF for their efficient response during past calamities and expressed confidence that the new resources will enable the force to serve the people more effectively.

Features of the New Launch (Sukhu Launches New Disaster)

The newly launched resources include a flag, logo, uniform, and ten vehicles for the SDRF. The Director General of Police, Sanjay Kundu, highlighted that SDRF is a recently established force that has already shown excellent performance in the past few months. The force has three companies located in Shimla, Mandi, and Kangra, with 183 personnel.

Officials Present at the Ceremony

In addition to the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police, the Industries Minister, Education Minister, and various MLAs were present at the launch ceremony. The Head of SDRF and Superintendent of Police Ilma Afroz and ADGP Law and Order Abhishek Trivedi were also in attendance.

The launch of HP SDRF’s new resources is a significant development for disaster management in Himachal Pradesh. With the force’s dedication and efficiency, the new resources will enhance the state’s disaster response capabilities and save lives and property during natural calamities.
