Traditional Practice of “Jhoola Jhulna” during JANAMASHTMI by Swarn Public Students

swaran.sc.24.8 (6)The festival of Janamashtmi was joyously celebrated at Swarn Public School, Tutikandi. The atmosphere was one of enthusiasm as the School Principal Seema Mehta, staff and students got together for the occasion. The Principal enlightened the students about the life and achievements of Lord Krishna. The day was marked with prayers and worship and the traditional practice of “jhoola Jhulna” carried out by both the staff and the children.

swaran.sc.24.8 (4)Tamanna, Vaishnavi, Ravneet, Shivani, Priyanka, Parul, Samarth and Kartik beautifully depicted the roles of Krishna, Radha and the Gopis of Gokul. Classes IV and V enacted a short skit based on the story of the birth of Krishna where Abhinav played the role of Narad Muni, Danish was dressed as Kansa, Yamini, Muskan, Sakshi and Megha played Yamuna. Parikshit played as a guard and Aditya threaded the entire skit as the narrator.

The staff took to singing bhajans, so essential to the festival. Prayers were offered and prasad distributed among all before the celebrations concluded.
