Auckland House School celebrated its 152nd Founders’ Day on the 1st June as a number of old girls returned to pay respect to their Alma Mater. The day’s programme was divided into two sessions. There was a prayer service followed by a cultural programme. Director-Principal Sunita John welcomed the guests and commenced the prayer service which was interspersed with melodious hymns.

The cultural programme had a wide variety of events ranging from hymns, dances, English play and the school band among others. The guests were full of praise for the excellent programme and also fondly recalled their stay at Auckland House School. This was followed by a basketball match between the Old Girls and the Form XII students wherein the latter emerged victorious.

The chief guest thoroughly enjoyed the Fete and remarked that it took her back in time. She commended the school for the excellent arrangements. The Carnival, an annual event on the school calender has the staff members and students work in unison to man various stalls. The school ground was enveloped with colourful tents that housed various stalls offering everything from mouth-watering eatables, handicrafts, needlework, souvenirs to a variety of games stalls. The most rushed stalls were the Mehnadi, Tatoo and Art Work ones are children patiently waited for their turns. The request corner played few rocking numbers as they received dedication from friends to their peers and seniors.

The ex-Auckyites and students from various schools in Shimla visited the Carnival and added to the gaiety of the event. All in all the carnival turned out to be a grand success.
