The 49th meeting of the Board of Directors (BoD) of the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Welfare Board was held here on Tuesday, chaired by Board Chairman Nardev Singh Kanwar. During the session, the Board approved the establishment of a new sub-office at Balichowki in Mandi district, along with the allocation of necessary staff to enhance local accessibility for workers.
The Board also emphasized accelerating the e-KYC registration process of workers at the Panchayat level through Labour Welfare Officers to streamline worker benefits. Discussions were held regarding the agreement for outsourced services, with plans to conduct a meeting involving HPSEDC and the outsourcing agency to finalize details.
An additional budget of Rs. 2 crore was sanctioned for procuring official materials and promoting various welfare schemes. To boost awareness, the Board approved the installation of 12 outdoor LED screens at the district level and temporary flex hoardings at fair price shops to ensure wider publicity of the Board’s initiatives.
Chairman Nardev Singh Kanwar thanked all members for their contributions and reiterated the Board’s dedication to the welfare and upliftment of construction workers in Himachal Pradesh. Secretary-cum-CEO Rahiv Kumar also shared valuable suggestions aimed at improving Board operations. The meeting was attended by Board members Vijay Wardhan, Bhupender Singh, J.C. Chauhan, Pradeep Kumar, Munish Karol, Jyoti Chauhan, Amar Singh, and Neelam Gupta.
