The Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, in collaboration with various stakeholders, is organizing various adventure and thrilling programs and competitions in the state till mid-March. This will help in promoting tourist places full of natural beauty and attracting more tourists to the state. A spokesperson of the state government said here today that the third edition of the snow-marathon will be organized on March 10, 2024 in Lahaul at an average altitude of 11000 feet.
Under this, marathons will be organized in four formats – 42 km, 21 km, 10 km and 5 km for men, women and junior categories. To experience the winter thrill, a one kilometer ‘Joy Race’ will be the main center of attraction during this period. The spokesperson said that in order to bring the beautiful tribal areas of Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti on the global tourism platform and to give the tourists thrilling experience of winter activities, in the month of March, M/s La Himalaya.
Mountain Goat Expedition will conduct expeditions to Narkanda, Baga Sarahan, Sangla, Tabo- Snow-drive trips covering the Kaza are being organised. Its objective is to promote winter adventure tourism in the state and provide promotion to the unexplored destinations of Himachal. He informed that the Asian Rafting Championship will be organized in Pandoa (Tattapani) from March 4 to 9, 2024. It will be organized in collaboration with the Indian Rafting Federation as well as the Indian Army.
