A week of intellectual exploration, creative expression and spirited competition came to a memorable close as Zephyr 2026, Auckland House School’s flagship inter-school festival celebrating 160 Years of Excellence, concluded with enthusiastic participation from students across Shimla.

Bringing together some of the region’s brightest young minds, the festival transformed classrooms and auditoriums into hubs of innovation, debate, theatre and artistic expression. More than just a competition, Zephyr emerged as a celebration of curiosity, leadership and learning.

One of the standout events was the Symposium of Ideas, held in memory of former Principal Mrs. Sunita John. Students from leading schools presented insightful research papers and engaged in stimulating discussions on contemporary issues, demonstrating academic rigour and analytical thinking. The symposium was moderated by Dr. Pankaj K. Singh, former Chairperson of the Department of English, Himachal Pradesh University, while Satwant Atwal Trivedi, IPS, Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh, attended as the Special Guest.

The spirit of innovation continued in Proof of the Matter, where participants tackled real-world challenges through research-backed solutions. Addressing issues ranging from sustainability and urban development to digital lifestyles and human behaviour, students showcased their problem-solving abilities and vision for the future. Auckland House School for Boys earned the Best Actionable Plan Award, while Auckland House School received an Honourable Mention.

Creativity took centre stage during From Script to Stage, an inter-school drama competition that featured original scripts brought to life through compelling performances. The event highlighted storytelling, imagination and teamwork, with Pritha Doegar of Auckland House School winning both the Best Actor Award and the Best Script Award.

Adding excitement to the festival was Shipwrecked, a unique public speaking challenge where participants adopted fictional identities and argued why they should receive the last life jacket aboard a sinking ship. The competition tested wit, confidence and persuasive skills. Aaidhan Gowher of Auckland House School for Boys and Pritha Doegar of Auckland House School emerged as Survivors in their respective categories.

The festival concluded with an energetic Inter-House Nukkad Natak Competition, where students used the power of street theatre to spotlight pressing social issues. The performances were adjudged by noted theatre personalities Rupesh Bhimta and Kedar Thakur, who appreciated the creativity and social messaging reflected in the acts.

A colourful French Fashion Show added an international flavour to the celebrations, blending language learning with style and presentation. The competition was judged by Parul and Harry from Auckland House School for Boys. Group 6 secured the top position, while Groups 1 and 2 jointly claimed second place.

Throughout the week, students were encouraged to question, create, collaborate and communicate, making Zephyr 2026 a vibrant platform for holistic learning. The participation of educators, professionals, artists and experts enriched the experience and provided valuable exposure to diverse perspectives.

As Auckland House School celebrates 160 years of educational excellence, Zephyr 2026 stood as a shining reflection of its commitment to nurturing confident thinkers, creative innovators and socially responsible future leaders.
