Jagat Singh Negi, Revenue and Horticulture Minister of Himachal Pradesh, on Monday directed revenue officials to dispose of all pending land lease cases in Kumarsain and Kotgarh within one month.
Chairing a meeting with revenue officers of Kumarsain and Kotgarh, the minister reviewed various land-related issues affecting residents of the area.
Negi said that under different land allotment schemes, land leases were granted to people in Kumarsain and Kotgarh nearly 50 years ago, but many cases remain unresolved. In several instances, the leases were issued but the mutation in revenue records has not yet been carried out. In other cases, the leases were approved and the premium (nazrana) was deposited, but the lease documents were never issued.
The minister said that residents of the two areas had brought the matter to his notice. Taking serious note of the delay, he directed revenue officers to resolve all pending cases within a month and submit a progress report after the stipulated period.
Negi also instructed officials to ensure strict compliance with the orders and to launch a special drive to clear all such pending cases.
Later, a delegation from Kumarsain and Kotgarh met the minister and thanked him for prioritising and addressing their concerns.
Anil Chauhan and other officials were also present at the meeting.
