The much-awaited All India Girls Expedition (Himtrek) 2026 got underway at Jaypee University of Information Technology, bringing together 510 NCC girl cadets from across the country for a unique blend of adventure, leadership, and cultural exchange.
Organized by 1 HP (G) Battalion NCC Solan under the aegis of the PHHP&C Directorate, the expedition has attracted participants from five NCC Directorates—Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, and PHHP&C.
The camp was formally inaugurated on June 6 by Col Vivek Bhatara, who encouraged cadets to uphold the values of discipline, teamwork, safety, and adventure throughout the expedition.
As part of the opening activities, cadets undertook the scenic Dumher Trek, testing their endurance and resilience while experiencing the natural beauty of the region. The trek provided an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen team spirit, and develop leadership skills in a challenging outdoor environment.
The day concluded with spirited sports competitions and a vibrant cultural evening, creating a platform for friendship, camaraderie, and national integration among cadets from diverse parts of the country.
Himtrek 2026 aims to nurture self-reliance, leadership qualities, and a spirit of adventure among young women while fostering unity and mutual understanding through shared experiences in the Himalayas.
