Gaiety-CAmp.16.1.16aAs the winter vacations have turned into the creativity den, members of “Samnavaya” Theatre Group have left no stone unturned to provide children of the City with an opportunity to learn, grown and get polished when it comes to performing art.

The winter theatre camp was organized in which 46 students from different schools participated and expanded their horizon beyond the idiot box. The result of this camp came in form of a stage performance held at Gaiety Theatre, Shimla in which the students showcased their talent by staging their acting and dancing skills.

Gaiety-CAmp.16.1.16Students enacted a play ‘Yeh Khaan Aa Gye Hum’ written and directed by Hema Lata Ravat, depicting the futility of modern life and the issue that we unnecessary bring into life by giving too much importance to the people around us.

The play enlightened on how we often forget that children live by our example and often we give them a mean picture when it comes to dealing with parents or any other relations in our lives. We often consider our profit and loss before getting associated with any other human.

Gaiety-CAmp.16.1.16bIn the play children including Muskaan, Gauri, Navdisha, Vashanavi, Prinjal, Aradhya, Aarika, Harshit, Sharanay, Ridhyansh, Ghaina, Pratibha, Shonima, Akshit, Upanshu, Divyansh, Shantnu, Bhanu, Saransh, Sara, Dhannanjay, Harsh, Chinmay, Ishani, Aayushi, Geetika, Abhinav, Priyanshi, Arnav, Divyam, Naman, Pyuesh, Archit, Vikas, Kartik and Shivansh participated.

Other items that provided little cheer were a magic show by G.M. Negi a magician from Himachal and a Dance of the Dead along with a Punjabi dance choreographed by Chetan. In these dances students including Jatin, Muskaan, Mannat, Aadray, Shreya, Harshita and Kritka performed.

Parents were more than pleased to see their children perform live in front of them. They were happy that their wards had channelized their energies in a positive way and brought some constructive change in their lives.

During the show Praveen Chandla and Dr. Kamal Sharma graced the occasion as chief guests and were pleased with the performances. They congratulated the organizers for teaching students so well and bringing out the creative side of each one of them. Students were given certificate of merit after their performance and the event ended on a happy note.
