The Jal Shakti Vibhag has promoted 40 Junior Engineers (Civil) to the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil). Principal Secretary, Jal Shakti, Dr. Abhishek Jain said the promotions were approved following the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) in its meeting held on July 8, 2026.
Among the promoted officers, 22 belong to the diploma-holder category and 18 to the graduate/AMIE category. Category-wise, the promotions include 21 General, 6 OBC, 9 Scheduled Caste and 4 Scheduled Tribe officers.
In addition, 12 Junior Engineers have been promoted as Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) against posts expected to fall vacant in the near future.
Dr. Jain said the promotions would strengthen the department’s administrative and technical capacity by ensuring the availability of experienced officers at key positions, thereby improving the implementation of development projects and public service delivery.
He said the Jal Shakti Vibhag plays a crucial role in the development, operation and maintenance of drinking water supply, irrigation and water resources across the state. These promotions will further enhance the department’s efficiency and its commitment to providing timely and quality services to the people.
He added that the promotions would be subject to the final outcome of the civil writ petitions pending before the High Court.
