Cdt Lobzang & Cdt Ojaswani Adjudged as Best Cadets — Annual Training Camp at Eternal University

The Annual Training Camp of 1 HP Girls BN NCC Solan which commenced on 10 December at Eternal University, Baru Sahib under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters, Shimla came to a successful conclusion on 17 December 2022. In this camp 381 cadets of Senior Wing from 12 colleges and 231 cadets of Junior Wing from nine schools from seven districts of Himachal Pradesh took part. During the course of these eight days the cadets enthusiastically took part in various professional and cultural events and competitions.

The cadets were imparted training in Drill, Weapons, Map Reading, Field Craft, Battle Craft, Yoga, Social Services, Community Development and a variety of other subjects. Cadets also undertook live fire with a .22 calibre rifle.

The cadets benefitted immensely by learning time management, self-discipline, punctuality, selfless service to the nation and leadership traits. The aim of the camp was fully met as everyone could observe the marked difference in the confidence levels of the Girl Cadets over these eight days. The NCC Camps are something that the cadets look forward to very enthusiastically and are a highlight of their three year NCC training, as it makes them eligible to appear in the various certificate exams held at the end of the year.

On the culmination of the camp a cultural show was organised by the cadets, in which they showcased their talent and also shared their experiences during the camp. Cdt Lobzang of RKMV Shimla was adjudged the Best Cadet in Senior Wing and Cdt Ojaswani of Auckland House School Shimla was adjudged the Best Cdt in Junior Wing. GPGC Solan was adjudged as the Best College amongst twelve colleges and GSSS Portmore Shimla was adjudged as the Best School amongst nine schools that attended the camp.
