Acting swiftly on the directions of CM Sukhu, the Kullu district administration today airlifted five patients from the remote Stingri region of Lahaul-Spiti to the district hospital in Kullu for urgent medical treatment.

The patients — Alka, Puran Singh, Aayush, Riyansh, and his mother Sanjita — were evacuated after the Chief Minister received information about their critical condition. He immediately instructed the district administration to ensure their prompt transfer and directed hospital authorities to provide the best possible medical care.

This intervention reflects the Chief Minister’s ongoing commitment to reaching citizens in remote and disaster-affected areas. In past instances as well, he has facilitated emergency airlifts for patients and others in distress from hard-to-reach regions to ensure timely medical assistance.

Alongside the evacuation, essential supplies were also airlifted to Lahaul-Spiti to mitigate the risk of shortages due to severely disrupted road connectivity. Continuous heavy rainfall has caused significant damage across the region, washing away parts of the road network and making ground transport impossible.

While en route to Bihar, the Chief Minister conducted a detailed review of the broader disaster situation in Himachal Pradesh. He held discussions with the Chief Secretary and senior administrative officers to monitor rescue and relief efforts and issued directives to accelerate assistance in affected areas.

The ongoing monsoon has caused extensive damage across the state, with key highways like the Kiratpur-Manali-Leh stretch badly hit, further complicating relief efforts. The government continues to prioritize the safety, health, and well-being of residents amid this natural crisis.
