CM Sukhu Directs Emergency Airdrops to Aid Kumar Village in Chamba

On the directives of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh, the district administration Chamba and District Disaster Management Authority airdropped essential supplies including blankets, tarpaulins, kitchen utensils, solar lights, shoes, warm clothes, food items like flour, rice, pulses, oil, and medicines in avalanche-hit village Kumar, Tehsil Pangi, in Chamba district.

Revealing this, a government spokesman said that village Kumar experienced an avalanche yesterday due to which a road blockade occurred and people living there were in need of essential services.  

He said that after receiving the information, the district administration has been asked to undertake the rescue and other operations on a war footing to provide all possible assistance to the affected people.

He said that the Chief Minister was constantly in touch with the district administration and monitoring the situation. Sh. Sukhu has directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance to the residents of the village to alleviate their hardships.
