Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday addressed a public rally in West Bengal’s Chowrangee Assembly constituency, campaigning in support of Congress candidate Manas Sarkar and urging voters to back the party.
Addressing the gathering, Sukhu said the people of West Bengal, particularly the youth, are seeking change and aspire for a government committed to development, transparency, and good governance. He noted that for the first time in nearly two decades, the Congress has fielded candidates in all 294 Assembly constituencies, expressing confidence that the party’s victory would accelerate the state’s development.
Highlighting the party’s ideology, Sukhu stated that Congress stands for equal respect for all religions and castes, adding that strengthening the party in West Bengal is crucial for upholding democratic values. He called on voters to support Congress to secure a brighter and more inclusive future for the state.
Criticizing the current political landscape, the Chief Minister alleged that the governance style of the Trinamool Congress has led to public disillusionment. He further claimed that while the BJP engages in divisive politics, the Trinamool Congress has been marked by instability and corruption, eroding public trust.
Reaffirming the party’s commitment, Sukhu said Congress has consistently fought for people’s rights, social justice, and equal opportunities, and would continue to do so with dedication in the future.
