DPS Shimla Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

Delhi Public School, Shimla, celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic pride, organizing a vibrant event centered on the theme of “Nation First.” The school community gathered for a special assembly led by students of Classes IV, V, and VI, which beautifully reflected the values of freedom and national unity. Adding to the celebratory mood, young learners from Classes I-A and I-B presented energetic dance routines set to patriotic tunes.

The day featured engaging student activities, including a Declamation Competition where participants shared inspiring thoughts on national responsibility and civic pride. A major highlight of the occasion was a compelling Nukkad Natak titled “Hum Sab Deshbhakt Banenge,” staged by students of Classes III to V. The performance conveyed a powerful message that true patriotism lies in everyday actions, choices, and duties toward the country.

The event was graced by retired Army personnel Sant Ram Bhikta, whose presence as a guest of honor added a meaningful touch to the celebrations. Addressing the audience, Headmistress Veena Chauhan encouraged students to embrace a strong sense of unity, national devotion, and responsibility as the future citizens of India.
