Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today honoured Ruchi Thakur, a resident of Karsog in Mandi district, at his official residence Oak Over after her successful summit of Mount Everest on 21 May 2026.
The Chief Minister congratulated her for the extraordinary feat and said that her achievement would motivate the youth of the state to pursue goals with courage, discipline and determination. He also announced a cash award of ₹1 lakh in recognition of her accomplishment.
He noted that women of Himachal Pradesh are consistently bringing laurels to the state through outstanding achievements in diverse fields and are serving as an inspiration for society.
