Governor and CM Pay Tribute to Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur have paid rich floral tributes to the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary at historic Ridge Shimla.

On the occasion, the Governor said that Atal Ji was a preceptor of good governance. When he became the Prime Minister of the country, after many years, the countrymen saw the transformation of ‘Swaraj’ into ‘Su-raj’, he added.

Rajender Vishwanath Arlekar said that good governance started in the country through the able leadership of Atal ji. That is why we today, are moving forward on the path of public participation and good governance by following the path shown by him, said Shri Arlekar.

The Chief Minister said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a legendary and visionary leader who defined highest values of leadership and his contribution for the development of the country would always be remembered. He said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was an orator par excellence who had ability to cast a spell on the audience. He said that nation was first for Atal Bihari Vajpayee and therefore regarded as the true statesman by people of the country.

He said that he was a statesman, kind heart and the tallest leader of Indian politics who always remained upright for the cause of the nation.

Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Shimla, Satya Kaundal, Deputy Mayor Shalinder Chauhan, Councillors, Deputy Commissioner Aaditya Negi, Superintendent of Police Dr. Monika Bhutungru, senior officers and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
