The Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board is organizing a first ever State Level Inter School Quiz Competition namely “Himachal Enviro Quiz- 2022” on the theme of Environment with an objective of generating awareness amongst children and driving consciousness to save the environment. The quiz is being organized in partnership with ITC Nimyle under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program “Nimyle Eco Friendly India Mission”. The District Level round of the quiz will be online and will be conducted on a dedicated website (bit.ly/himachalenviroquiz2022) being created specifically for this quiz competition.
The month long activity will commence on 7th May 2022 with online registration of all public & private higher and senior secondary schools of the State. Schools would need to register themselves and maximum of three teams (each team comprising of two students) for participation in the District Level round. The last date of registration for participation in the District Level round is 17.05.2022. The online registration link for the same is bit.ly/register-enviroquiz2022. The online District level round will held on 20.05.2022, wherein, team will have to take/answer 30 questions in 15 minutes. Top 36 teams will move to physical round of the State Level Quiz Competition hosted by quiz master Mr. Venky Srinivasan (CEO, Nexus Consulting), which will be held on 05.06.2022 at Shimla to commemorate the eve of the World Environment Day 2022. Apoorv Devgan, IAS, Member Secretary, Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board stated that “Children are the future of the country and safe keepers of our environment. We hope that the quiz will be right trigger to induce positive attitude towards environment conservation”.
The H. P. State Pollution Control Board in association with the Department of Education, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh aim to reach out nearly 4200 high and senior secondary schools (both public and private) and about 8000 teams for participation in the District Level round. Students from 8th to 12th class shall be eligible to participate in this quiz competition and participants, winners shall be conferred with certificates & awards. It is also pertinent to mention here that the H. P. State Pollution Control Board in association with the Department of Education, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh had also conducted school-level Quiz competition to commemorate the World Earth Day 2022 on 22nd April 2022 with an objective to raise awareness among students on the issues pertaining to environment protection and pollution control. All schools participated in the said competition with great enthusiasm and fervour.
