HP Board to Strengthen Exams, Approves ₹14 Cr Budget

A meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Board was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Abhishek Jain, Secretary, Department of Technical Education, where the budget for the financial year 2026-27 was approved.

The Board cleared an estimated budget of around ₹14 crore and also reviewed ongoing activities for 2025-26. Dr. Jain directed officials to uphold high standards in examinations and study best practices adopted by other state education boards to improve the system further.

He also instructed that efforts be made to secure recognition of the Board’s diploma as equivalent to the Class 12 Science qualification. In addition, it was decided that D.Pharmacy diplomas awarded after 2020 should be issued as per the revised Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) guidelines.

The meeting further directed regular inspections of polytechnic and allied institutions, along with time-bound action to rectify deficiencies identified during reviews.
