Himachal Pradesh has successfully secured ₹293.36 crore for key road and bridge projects under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for the financial year 2024-25. Announced by PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, the approved projects will greatly enhance connectivity in crucial districts, including Shimla, Hamirpur, Kangra, and Mandi.
In Shimla, ₹54.87 crore will be used to upgrade the 52 km Tikkar-Jarol-Gahan-Nanakhari-Khamadi road, improving access in the region. Hamirpur will witness a major transformation with ₹41.10 crore allocated for the Sujanpur Tihra-Sandhol road and ₹79.25 crore for the 37 km Navgaon-Beri road. Furthermore, Kangra district will benefit from an 828-meter Gaj Khad bridge, funded at ₹86.34 crore. Lastly, Mandi will see the upgradation of the Bakhrot-Karsog-Sanarli-Sainj road, costing ₹31.80 crore.
These developments are a result of the consistent efforts by the PWD, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, to secure central funding for the state’s infrastructure development. The newly approved road projects aim to boost the local economy, provide better access to remote areas, and improve the quality of life for residents.
