If the junior annual function was ‘perfection personified’, then the Senior Section Speech Day was a step further, it was ‘pure excellence’. The Chief Guest for the day was Jyoti Rana, H. A. S., Assistant Commissioner, Shimla, who was warmly greeted by the Director-Principal Sunita John, Auckland Boys School Principal Micheal A John and the senior wing teachers. The day’s progamme commenced with the Principal’s report, wherein she highlighted the academic progress of the school and the students during the current academic year. The School Head Girl, Niharika Bansal, then shared her wonderful experiences in Auckland school and how her teachers and guides helped her to turn her weaknesses into her strengths, and gave her the encouragement to become a confident person she has become today.

The chief guest then shared her experiences and told the parents to listen to their children closely and learn to be their friends. After her speech, the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony took place wherein more than 250 students of the school were awarded prizes for excellence in academics and co-curricular activities. Apart from this the school disbursed scholarships and freeships worth Rs.41,38,576 to deserving students.

The second half of the programme commenced with a short entertainment programme which comprised of a wide variety of events. It began with the opening hymn followed by the Hindi dance drama ‘Kabuliwala’ which won hearts of the audience. The character of ‘mini’, the little girl was played by Aahar Kaur and the grown girl was played by Niharika Bansal, which was just commendable and the other actors coupled with perfect dance numbers kept the spectators engaged. The Junior and senior Choir group pitched in with few melodious songs. The Indian Music Orchestra and the Band brought in the harmonious and vibrant beats respectively, as Sadrika Kalta’s solo band beats were just awesome. Finally the English play titled, ‘The Man Who Married A Dumb Wife’ left the parents wanting for more, but then time is alway a constrain when it comes to annual functions. (More Videos)

The Chief Guest was all praises for the efforts put in by the students, thus making the Speech Day for the year 2017 a grand success.
